Victor Osimhen, striker for Galatasaray, reportedly refused to be discharged from the hospital a day after undergoing surgery on his arm.
The development was disclosed by Turkish journalist, Haluk Yürekli, who revealed that the player personally requested to remain under medical care for a longer period.
According to Yürekli, Osimhen made the request following his surgery last Monday.
“Victor Osimhen underwent surgery last Monday morning. The public was informed that Osimhen would be discharged the following day.
“However, Osimhen made a request to the administrators, saying, ‘I don’t want to be discharged; I want my care to continue here so I can return sooner.’
“A security guard was stationed outside his room, and even his immediate family wasn’t allowed in. He was discharged this afternoon,” he said.
Osimhen sustained the injury during Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg clash against Liverpool earlier this month.
