Bala Mohammed, governor of Bauchi State, on Wednesday held a closed door meeting with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, and Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano State, at the Government House in Bauchi.
According to Channels Television, the meeting was strictly between the three political figures, with state party executives excluded.
The media was also barred from covering the session, which was held behind closed doors.
Efforts to obtain comments from the participants were unsuccessful, as both Mohammed and Yilwatda declined interviews, describing the meeting as a private engagement.
The development comes barely 24 hours after Mohammed signaled interest in joining the African Democratic Congress ADC.
His position followed a visit to Bauchi by a delegation of the party led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
