Alex Iwobi has admitted fault and issued a public apology following his red card in Nigeria national team’s 2 2 friendly draw against Jordan national team on March 31.

The midfielder was sent off late in the game after reacting to an incident involving Amer Jamous during the encounter in Turkey.

Speaking on the The Alexander Yaa Digg Podcast, the Fulham star described his actions as unacceptable and took responsibility.

“I need to address what I did and apologise to all my Nigerian teammates, staff, and everyone who cares about Nigeria. My actions were not good enough, and I got sent off,” he said.

“But I will learn from this and keep moving on. We got a draw, we did not lose, so we will take the positives.

“I want to apologise for the mistake,” he added.
