Liverpool FC have reportedly decided not to sack Arne Slot despite their 2–0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.

According to reports, the club’s hierarchy still plans to keep Slot in charge heading into next season, showing continued faith in the Dutch coach.

Slot, who replaced Jürgen Klopp in 2024, enjoyed immediate success by leading Liverpool to a Premier League title in his debut season. However, his second campaign has been far more difficult.

Liverpool currently sit fifth in the league, just one point above Chelsea FC, and are at risk of missing out on Champions League qualification. Their European campaign is also hanging in the balance after the first-leg defeat to PSG, where goals from Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put the French side in control.

Despite the struggles, club officials are said to be taking a long-term view rather than making a managerial change now.

There have been links to Xabi Alonso—a former Liverpool midfielder—as a potential future option, but for now, the club appears committed to giving Slot more time to turn things around.
