The All Progressives Congress has accused the Federal Government of arresting the owner of the company that supplied Permanent Voter Cards and card readers, Alhaji Sani Musa.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Thursday, said Musa, who owns ACT Technologies, was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Service on Tuesday.
Mohammed, who addressed a news conference in Lagos, on Thursday, said the move by the security agency showed the desperation of the Goodluck Jonathan administration to win the election at all cost.
The opposition party’s spokesperson said that Musa was arrested because the Federal Government thought he has the codes to the card readers.
He said, “Perhaps, the agents of the ruling party believe he may have the codes for the card readers, which is preposterous. Alhaji Musa has also been accused of colluding with the APC to rig the elections, which is totally false because we, at the APC, do not subscribe to rigging under any guise.
Mohammed also said that the Federal Government has perfected strategies to deploy bandits in uniforms to polling units, alleging that the bandits “would disperse voters by force after voter accreditation must have been completed.”
He accused the Federal Government of plotting to scuttle the election because “the handwriting of defeat is clear on PDP’s wall.”
