The attention of the Abia PDP has been drawn to a laughable and unverifiable claim by Obinna Ichita, member representing Aba South State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, that the PDP is sponsoring moles in the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to destabilise the Party.
Save for the need to put the records straight and dutifully inform the good people of Abia State about the giant strides and genuine aspirations of the Abia PDP and the government it serves, Ichita’s comment does not deserve the waste of executive time expended to respond to such a distraction.
To be clear, APGA is not the Party’s headache, because it is a dying political organisation which has nothing to show in Abia State at any level, except its unimaginative criticism. For the record, Abia PDP does not in any way perceive APGA, a portfolio political party, as a threat to its existence in the State.
PDP and the Abia government are more concerned with, and busy delivering the dividends of democracy to the good people of Abia State. The new political paradigm in Abia is “seeing is believing” and there is nothing to believe in APGA’s empty promises and criticisms which are not backed by viable prescriptions or workable alternatives.
For Ichita’s information, PDP is the only political Party that has survived in Nigeria since the return to civil rule in 1999 and it is not part of PDP’s survival strategy to plant moles in any political Party, not in the least, a never-do-well political Party like APGA; a serial looser in Abia political landscape and invisible in the larger Nigerian context. Our pride as the largest political Party in Africa is not for nothing. We have been tried, tested and trusted.
PDP is a Nigerian project and a future-minded political horse-power with a strong determination to perform even better than ever. It is rather unfortunate that Mr. Ichita cannot make one sentence without mentioning the PDP which has refused to open its doors to its kind. In the wake of the last primary elections, it is Parties like APGA that have scurried the PDP to poach those that could not win primaries. The PDP wonders why and how it will turn around to plant moles in a Party populated by failures. This is evidence that Mr. Ichita’s allegation is at best misguided, unfounded and an attempt at clout chasing. PDP will not indulge people like him any further.
The Party calls on the good people of Abia State not to heed any such infantile vituperations from attention seekers like Obinna Ichita. The PDP and Abia government are more focused in its divine mission to better the lot of Ndi Abia.
