On Thursday the Progressives Governors Forum, PGF, said President Bola Tinubu will take a final decision against the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu after the ongoing investigation is concluded.

The President had, on Monday, suspended Edu over her alleged involvement in a N585 million fraud.

A leaked memo indicated that she recently approved the payment of N585 million social intervention funds into the private account of a civil servant.

Against this backdrop, Tinubu directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to probe the allegation.

Reacting, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, urged Nigerians not to hurriedly conclude that Edu is guilty of the corruption allegations against her.

Uzodinma said Nigerians should wait till the end of the ongoing investigations before drawing a conclusion on Edu.

He spoke while addressing journalists after a meeting of the Forum in Abuja.

“And in the wisdom of the President, she is being investigated. It is after the investigation is concluded and the report made available to the government that it will take a final decision,” he said.
