In a rare show of patriotism and love for Olokoro, Concerned Olokoro Youths in Diaspora (COYID), Olokoro Progressive Youth Association (OPYA), OCDU committee on health, Ahiaukwu market leadership, Olokoro Youths,Abia state Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) and The people of Abia collaborated to clean up Ahiaukwu market on Saturday 28 September, 2024.
This is to further consolidate the efforts of government in ensuring a greener and cleaner Abia.
On the eve of the clean up, environmental protection materials were shared to the traders of Ahiaukwu market traders for appropriate waste management and disposal.
Green Olokoro initiative as promised will be a continuous exercise that will come periodically as resources permits. We call on relevant stakeholders and Umu Olokoro in general to take environmental sanitation very serious as a clean environment promotes good health. I also wish to applaud Mr Lion Wisdom Ekeleme, for conceiving this noble initiative that came very timely. A very big thank you to Umu Olokoro who contributed in cash, advice, direction to made this exercise a success, may God bless us all.
