A young farmer, identified as Lucky Tsetim, has been killed by suspected armed herdsmen at Tse-Kalema in Mbazun, Atogbenda, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.
Local residents said Tsetim was attacked on Tuesday while working on his farm. The incident has heightened tension in the community, with locals decrying the growing frequency of such attacks in Tse-Kalema.
Community members have called on security agencies to take urgent action to curb the violence and restore peace to the troubled area.
As of the time of filing this report, the Benue State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement. Repeated calls to the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Udeme Edet, were unanswered.
