— Hosts Labour Party Executives, Ward Chairmen in Bende
Former Deputy Chairman of Bende Local Government Area, Hon. Promise Uzoma Okoro, has called for unity within the Labour Party in Bende, stressing that collective effort is key to ensuring the re-election of Governor Alex Otti in 2027.
Okoro, a journalist-turned-politician, made the call on Friday morning at his Alayi country home during a meeting with the Local Government Executives and Ward Chairmen of the Labour Party in Bende.
He urged party members to put aside differences and work together to secure victory for the governor in the next general election.
“We have a task ahead of 2027 and that task is to stay united and ensure that we deliver Governor Alex Otti in Bende,” Okoro said.
“Bende is gradually becoming the headquarters of opposition against the Governor, but with unity, we can change the narrative.
“I convened this meeting as a leader in the politics of Bende and it is a familiarization gathering, and by the grace of God, we will continue to meet regularly.
“A united people cannot be defeated by one man, because a united voice speaks louder than a single voice.”
Speaking on behalf of the party executives, the Labour Party Chairman in Bende, Mr. Eze Lawrence, commended Okoro for identifying with the grassroots and showing genuine interest in strengthening the party’s base.
“This meeting shows you truly understand grassroots politics. We appreciate your efforts and encourage others to follow this example,” Lawrence said.
Also speaking, the Ward Chairman of Item B and Chairman of all Ward Chairmen in Bende, Pastor Thomas Ukonu, thanked the former Deputy Chairman for hosting the meeting, assuring him of their full support and cooperation
