Former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai has encouraged Zamfara residents to align with the African Democratic Congress as part of efforts to address insecurity and economic hardship in the state and across Nigeria.
Speaking to party supporters in Gusau on Sunday, he said the ADC has outlined plans to improve security, strengthen the economy, and boost food production in Zamfara.
El-Rufai appealed for unity within the party and cautioned against internal sabotage. He also called for collaboration with youth and women’s groups to expand grassroots engagement and urged eligible voters to secure their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the 2027 elections.
ADC deputy national organising secretary Abubakar Atiku said the visit would help reinforce party cohesion in Zamfara, while state chairman Kabiru Garba noted that representatives from all 14 local government areas, including youth and women’s groups, attended the event.
The gathering also attracted local political figures, religious leaders and other community stakeholders.
