Southern Governors, Deputies Gather in Ogun for Strategic Regional Meeting

Six governors from the southern region of Nigeria, along with three deputy governors, have arrived at Governor Dapo Abiodun’s private residence in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, ahead of the Southern Governors’ Forum meeting scheduled for Wednesday.

Those in attendance include Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji. Also present are Governors Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Peter Mbah (Enugu), and Charles Soludo (Anambra).

Deputy governors who have arrived for the meeting include Kola Adewusi of Osun State, Bayo Lawal of Oyo State, and Peter Odey of Cross River State.

The 17 southern governors are expected to deliberate on major national issues affecting the region. According to the forum’s chairman, Governor Abiodun, there will also be a joint session with the Southern Traditional Rulers Council at 1:00 p.m today.
