Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze a close associate of former Minister of Transformation Chibuike Amaechi has cautioned Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole to stop attacking Amaechi and former vice president Atiku Abubakar.
According to earlier reports Oshiomhole during an appearance on the Channels TV programme “Politics Today” described Amaechi as ‘the most terrible’ and accused him of mismanaging the rail system while in office. He also questioned why Amaechi constructed a rail line to Niger Republic while Rivers State had none. The former Edo State governor further dismissed Amaechis contribution to the APCs victory in 2015.
Reacting in a statement issued on Thursday Eze said Oshiomhole and his associates in the APC were becoming increasingly unsettled at the thought of their imminent political defeat. He argued that what he described as the gross incompetence of President Bola Tinubu had pushed the country into deeper crisis.
“Oshiomhole is one of those who by their penchant should be behind bars if the systems were working in Nigeria but instead he is currently serving as one of the puppet Senators of Bola Ahmed Tinubu just to evade prosecution” Eze stated.
“Amaechi speaks truth to power because he has no cockroach hidden in his cupboard. And so people like Oshiomhole should bury their heads in shame when the likes of Amaechi are making patriotic efforts to liberate the country” he added.
Eze a former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party nPDP said Amaechi is committed to due process and non violence and deserves respect for consistently standing on the right side of national issues.
He urged Oshiomhole to direct his anger elsewhere stressing that Amaechi remains focused on national development and the broader liberation agenda for Nigeria. Eze maintained that Amaechi has no regrets reviving and transforming the once moribund rail system adding that his blueprint for rail development across the South South South East and up to the North East is still being implemented though selectively and slowly by the current Minister of Transportation.
Addressing Oshiomholes query on the shutdown of the judiciary during Amaechis tenure Eze advised him to seek proper information. “That was when his friend Wike wanted to use five lawmakers to impeach a sitting governor contrary to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria” he explained.
“Oshiomhole should go and hide his face for becoming the first National Chairman of a political party to be impeached by his ward for his ugly activities” Eze added.
