Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has formally withdrawn his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

His spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, disclosed late Monday night that Adeleke submitted his resignation on November 4, 2025, in a letter addressed to the PDP Ward 2 Chairman in Sagba Abogunde, Ede North Local Government Area.

Adeleke explained that his decision was driven by the persistent crisis rocking the PDP’s national leadership.

“In view of the current disorder within the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, I hereby resign my membership of the PDP with immediate effect,” he wrote.

He expressed appreciation to the party for providing him the platform to serve first as Senator for Osun West and later as Governor of Osun State.

Although Governor Adeleke has not officially declared his next political move, speculation is growing that he may be considering joining the Accord Party as preparations intensify ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun.
