The Ofuji Movement, in partnership with the Chima Anyaso Foundation, has successfully concluded a six-week ward-to-ward humanitarian outreach across the 13 wards of Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State, delivering food relief and financial support to hundreds of residents.
The outreach, which held every Sunday throughout the Lenten season, was designed to cushion the economic realities faced by vulnerable households while reinforcing the values of compassion, sacrifice, and community support associated with Easter.
Each ward visited during the exercise received food items alongside a financial grant of ₦500,000, aimed at supporting indigent members of the communities.
The programme climaxed on Easter Sunday with large-scale distributions in Uzuakoli Ward, Umuimenyi Etiti, and Nkpa Ward, where enthusiastic crowds gathered to benefit from the initiative.
Community leaders and stakeholders who witnessed the distributions described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that it brought relief and renewed hope to many families.
Although the convener of the initiative, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, was not physically present at the grand finale, he conveyed deep appreciation after reviewing reports, videos, and images from the outreach.
“We thank God for the opportunity to stand with our people at a time that calls for love and sacrifice,” he stated, emphasizing that the initiative reflects a commitment to humanitarian service and grassroots connection.
Speaking during the event, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha, reiterated that the outreach aligns with Dr. Anyaso’s sustained vision of community empowerment and social intervention.
He also called on residents of Bende Local Government Area to continue supporting the administration of Alex Chioma Otti, citing ongoing developmental strides across the state.
Onuoha further urged eligible citizens to participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and voter revalidation exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also spotlighted the growing momentum of the “OTTI AGAIN 2027 Movement,” an initiative associated with Dr. Anyaso.
At the finale, the three host communities received both food items and ₦500,000 each, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to equitable distribution across wards.
In his vote of thanks, the President General of Nkpa Community Development Union, Bishop Ugo Nwosu, expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Anyaso for his consistent humanitarian interventions, describing him as a dependable ally of grassroots communities.
Several stakeholders, including Hon. Henry Nduaka Nworisara, Sir Nelson Ofoegbu, Mrs. Chinonyerem Ikedieze, Hon. Chukwuemeka Ogbonnaya, and Elder Ndubueze Obioma, commended the initiative and urged Dr. Anyaso to contest and represent Bende Federal Constituency in 2027.
Dignitaries present at the event included Hon. Chukwuemeka Ochiobi, High Chief Madubuike (Ebekue Dike I of Nkpa), Deacon Iyke Uchela, Pastor Okechukwu Dike, alongside traditional rulers and community leaders.
The outreach has been widely regarded as one of the most extensive grassroots humanitarian efforts in recent times within the constituency.
Indeed, for many residents, the message is clear — more hope, more support, and more joy are on the horizon.
