Media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Mr Lere Olayinka, has circulated an old video clip showing the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, making remarks considered derogatory toward his principal.
Fubara had on Wednesday night announced his withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primary, stating that the decision was not borne out of weakness or fear but taken in the interest of peace in the state.
Reacting to the development, Lere Olayinka, in a series of posts, claimed that the governor currently has no political candidates contesting for Senate, House of Representatives, or State Assembly seats.
He further alleged that no local government chairman or councillor is aligned with Fubara, suggesting that the FCT Minister maintains full control of the political structure in Rivers State.
“Totally and completely isolated politically. Yet, he is still saying he didn’t step aside out of weakness, fear or surrender”, Lere wrote.
Olayinka also shared an old video in which Fubara was seen likening Wike’s outburst to that of a barking dog.
