Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has submitted the 2026 to 2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework, MTEF, to the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The Speaker of the House, Martin Chike Amaewhule, presented a letter from the governor conveying the submission of the three-year fiscal plan during an emergency plenary held on Thursday morning.
The sitting marked the first plenary session of the Assembly in more than three months. The last sitting occurred during the screening of commissioner nominees forwarded by the governor.
Prior to that, the House had last convened on January 8, when it initiated impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara before adjourning and failing to reconvene on its scheduled resumption date of January 15.
At the end of Thursday’s plenary, lawmakers postponed consideration of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework to a later date.
