Police confirmed that all recovered items have been secured for forensic examination as investigations continue.
Those arrested include Teslim Igbalaye, 57, Akande Taiwo, 60, Oladele Abiodun, 38, Adeyemo Lukman, 45, Olaoye Muftau, 50, and Aderemi Musliu, 40. The suspects were found at the premises during the operation and taken into lawful custody.
Investigators said the recovery of the cash and voter register has raised concerns over possible electoral offences and other criminal activities.
According to the command, investigators are examining possible violations of the Electoral Act 2022, including the alleged bribery of voters through the distribution of money or other inducements intended to influence voting decisions.
Police also said they are investigating possible criminal conspiracy and the alleged harbouring or concealment of a wanted suspect. They added that further offences could emerge depending on the outcome of forensic examinations and evidence gathered during the investigation.
The command described the allegations as serious, noting that they have significant implications for public security, the administration of justice and the credibility of the democratic process.
Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan assured residents that the investigation would be thorough and impartial.
He said investigators are working to identify everyone connected to the recovered exhibits, determine the source and intended use of the recovered funds, and establish the full extent of any alleged criminal activity.
The commissioner stressed that no individual, regardless of political affiliation, public office or social status, is above the law, adding that anyone found culpable at the conclusion of the investigation will be prosecuted in accordance with the Constitution and other applicable laws.
