Former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, Professor Chidi Odinkalu, has raised questions over President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s citizenship, family background and educational history.
Odinkalu, a Professor of Law, made the remarks in a video shared on social media, where he questioned what he described as gaps in the President’s publicly available personal records.
He specifically raised questions about Tinubu’s nationality, citing an alleged link to a Guinean diplomatic passport, while also questioning details surrounding his parentage, family history and educational background.
“We have a President whose nationality is unknown because he holds a Guinea diplomatic passport. We don’t know the parentage or family background of some people, and now we understand that President Buhari also thought the same.
“Somebody whose parentage, whose genealogy we do not know and we now understand that President Buhari thought the same thing too; whose primary school we do not know, whose secondary school we do not know, and who now claims to have gone to university.”
The senior lawyer also questioned how an individual could establish possession of a university degree without publicly available records detailing their primary and secondary education.
His comments come amid renewed discussions over the educational documents submitted by Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, during the electoral process.
