Rev Dr Gift Asuru has been Re-elected as the Ikwerre District Superintendent.
Rev Asuru was Re-elected at the Ongoing 5th Triennial Council Meeting of the District holding at Assemblies of God Church 2 Rumukwurushi Portharcourt the Rivers State Capital.
The Council Meeting which was Presided over by the General Superintendent of Assemblies Of God Nigeria Rev Dr Chidi Okoroafor and Assisted by Rev Emmanuel Udoaka the Eket District Superintendent had in attendance Rev Living Joshua the Executive Committee Representing South South South Zone at the General Council,Rev Cb Hezekiah of Okagwe South,Rev Daddy Ibulubo of Rivers District,Rev Mike Japhet of Ikwerre Central among others.
Speaking from books of Haggai 2:9 and Judges 9:2 On the Later Glory,Dr Okoroafor said God does not want us to dwell on the Former Glory,stressing that something New Must Happen.
“No matter what the Devil is saying,I shall give Peace says the Lord of Hosts
“As we gather to do the Routine thing of the Constitution,accessing the Leadership we have had for these three Years
“God is looking for People in every Local Church,God is looking for people in every District of the General Council”
The General Superintendent said present Leaders should be able to surpass what the Forefathers did while they were in Leadership.
He said a Pastor does not need to be a District Superintendent to be Popular,according to him
” There is a way God can Introduce somebody,there is nothing any man can Do about That” He Said.
Rev Dr Gift Asuru polled a Total number of 184 Votes from 209 Eligible Voters to be Re-elected as the Ikwerre District Superintendent at the Nominative Ballot.
Elected alongside Rev Asuru are Rev Loveday Akah as Assistant District Superintendent,Rev Dr Adefunsi Adewole as District Secretary,Rev C.W Amadi as District Treasurer,Rev J.S Udoh,Rev E C Okere and Rev Jonathan Onuoha as Presbyters .
