Following the crisis rocking the Imo State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), indications emerged yesterday that the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole led national working committee (NWC) would commence the process of reconciling the warring groups in the state.
Yesterday, it was learnt that the party’s leadership might soon summon Uzoma Ezediaro representing Oguta constituency in the state House of Assembly to offer explanation over his role in the crisis in the state, which is the only APC controlled state in the South East.
Ezediaro was said to have spearheaded the endorsement of chief of staff and son-in-law to the governor, Uche Nwosu, leading to the factionalisation of the party along the lines of Governor Okorocha and a coalition of APC chieftains from the state which include the former National organising Secretary of the party, Osita Izunaso.
The crisis in the state was triggered after Ezediaro rallied his colleagues to endorse Nwosu as the party’s preferred gubernatorial candidate for next year’s election, which was opposed by the stakeholders led by the deputy governor, Prince Madumere.
Meanwhile, the youth wing of the party has applauded the reappointment of Professor Eli Jidere Bala as the Director General of Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) for the second term. Faulting those opposed to Jidere’s appointment, they insisted that his tenure brought about far-reaching reforms in the ECN.
