Academic and Banking Activities were brought to a Standstill this Morning in Umuahia the Capital of Abia in compliance with the Nationwide Strike Declared by the Nigerian Labor Congress and the Trade Union Congress.
When PUO REPORTS Visited Bank Road in Umuahia this Morning, Bank Customers were seen at the gates of Uba, Union, Diomand, Ecobank, First Bank,Fidelity While the Security men of the banks Locked their various Gates.
At Ibeku High School in Umuahia, Pulpis who came to school this morning were also sent back home due to non Availability of Teachers who stayed at Home in Obedience to the Order by the Labour Leaders .
It will be recalled that the Nigerian Labour Congress had announced that it would embarked on a Two Weeks Warning Strike from Today Following Federal Government Refusal to act on the Proposed New Minimum Wage .
