The National Peace Committee chaired by Former Military leader, Abdulsalam Abubakar has presented grievances listed by the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Atiku and some PDP leaders had earlier met with the committee where he listed his grievances to them over his refusal to congratulate President Buhari as the winner of the just concluded presidential elections.
it was learnt that the former vice-president demanded the following;
- Demilitarisation of subsequent elections;
- Accreditation of voters before voting in subsequent elections;
- Access to the backend server of INEC by all parties who partook in the election;
- and Unfreezing of bank accounts belonging to opposition politicians.
Abdulsalam alongside Bishop Mathew Kukah and the Archbishop of Abuja Diocese, John Onaiyekan met with President Buhari and some leaders of the ruling party, APC on Friday, where they presented Atiku’s demands.
The meeting lasted for an hour.
