A Civil Society Organization, under the aegis of United Youth Leaders for Development Initiative, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint young persons as Ministers, in some of the Federal ministries of government.
This was contained in a statement released by the President of the group, Comrade Okwudili Victor, in Abuja, where he emphasised that youths are the leaders of today and not tomorrow that would never come.
In his words “we are the leader of today with innovative ideas to transform our immediate environment positively for progress”.
Okwudili said there’s no need jumping or belief that the youths are bad noting the elders we seen today were once a youth, it is an ideology that cannot fixed a problem without looking for its cause
“We should not jump to conclusion that all youths are bad, because our elders were once youths themselves, the actions are not for a particular set of people, it is an Ideology,  and we cannot fix a problem without first finding the root cause. Said Okwudili
He stated further that, things are fast evolving and in order to stay afloat, there’s need to evolve with it,
“things are fast evolving and for us to stay afloat we have to evolve with it, for instance, we cannot have a man as the minister of women affairs.
Okwudili urged Buhari to look critical when appointing his cabinet, noting that a person above age 40 not worthy to be minister of youth.
“We should not have a person above the age of 40 leading the youth ministry which is the only ministry charged with the responsibility of youth affairs”.
The group which also known as Global Youth Representatives, stressed that the major problem of Nigeria after corruption is the misplacement of priorities, square pegs should  be put in square holes. The youths should be involved when matters regarding their future and progress of this country are being discussed and every ministry should have a youth on its boards if not for anything they should be there to be mentored and also be given an opportunity to contribute their quota to national development.
Okwudili conclude saying, The United Youth leaders are always and ever ready to help the government of Nigeria to end Unemployment, banditry, terrorism, cyber crimes and the reoccurring security challenges currently facing the country if the groups are called upon to do so.
