The All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA Ward 2 and ward 3 in Arochukwu LGA have suspended the membership of Mr Nkem Okoro of Aro Ward 2 and Mrs Caroline Okoroafor of Aro Ward 3.
In the letter of Suspension dated 28th of June 2019, the Ward executives of the Ex Party members had set up a disciplinary committee to investigate the allegations leveled against them in a letter dated 14th June 2019.
Report has it that Mr Nkem Okoro was found guilty of impersonating the constitutionally elected State Chairman of the Party and spreading false rumors of a supposed phantom committee that made him a chairman to the state and has since been parading himself falsely as the state chairman.
That he used thugs and hooligans to threaten and take over the party office at no 74 School road Umuahia thereby creating factions in the party.
That he has acted in a manner which tends to bring the image of the party to disrepute by creating factions in the party and other anti party activities.
Mrs Caroline Okoroafor in the same vein is said to have been suspended for
1 Conducting parallel primaries in Ward 3 ARO and the local government area of the party thereby creating a parallel Excos of the party in Aro Ward 3 and Arochukwu local government area.
2. That in 23rd May 2019, Mrs Caroline Okoroafor sent some thugs from Arochukwu to Umuahia. The thugs led by one Mr Okezie Ogbuji. The thugs under the directive of Mrs Caroline Okoroafor threw some stones into the area, which damaged severely vehicles.
3. She has created bad blood and disunity within the party, also other acts capable of bringing the party disrepute.
The disciplinary committee which was set up in the LGA to investigate the allegations against the both party members having found them guilty of the charges and in compliance with article 22 (4) (A) (VI) , ( VII) have suspended them.
