Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has assured all persons who live and do business in Abia State that his administration will be relentless in the pursuit of the ideals of cooperation and peaceful coexistence amongst all persons and ethnic groups.

Governor Ikpeazu stated this today at his Country Home, Umuobiakwa in Obingwa LGA while receiving leaders of the Hausa Community in Aba who came to pay him the traditional Christmas homage.

The Governor told them that as long as they continue to live in peace and do their businesses without any form of trouble, the State Government will ensure that they will not be molested by any person.

He noted that some of them have lived all their lives here, some taking over the businesses of their late parents, thanked them for the contributions they make to the growth of the Aba economy through their various businesses noting that they have also helped to train many of our people who have now become Masters of their own in their line of business.

The Governor advised them to remain law abiding and to discharge all their obligations to government at all times and thanked them for the gifts they brought to him which included a big cow, yams, bags of onions, dates and a piece of cloth.

The Leaders of the Hausa Community in Aba earlier told the Governor that they were in his village to wish him a Merry Christmas and to thank him for ensuring the safety of their lives and businesses, while assuring the Governor and the people of Abia State that they will remain peaceful and law abiding throughout their stay here, noting that a good number of them were born here and have lived all their lives here.

The Governor was joined at this event by the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji who was also on his own Christmas visit to the Governor, Chairman of Obingwa LGA, Hon. Kingsley Nnaji and others.
