…Descries the Duo as Sound Minds in Sound Bodies
Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed has praised the appointment of the Minister of State, Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah and his substantive counterpart at the Ministry, Arc. Olamilekan Adegbite, describing the duo as two great minds in equally great frames.
Gov. Mohammed, who made the above observation during a visit to the Ministry, Monday, said the appointment of the two gentlemen to man the Ministry showed that a lot of results were being expected from the mining and steel sector. The immediate past Minister of the FCT, used the opportunity of the visit to express the willingness of his State, to partner with the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development to develop the artisanal and small scale mining industry in Bauchi State, a State that is known to have huge deposits of solid minerals and potential for immense revenue- generation for itself and for the nation.
Responding, the Ministers thanked the Bauchi State Governor for his visit and for his vision at trying to look inwards in his quest for internal revenue generation, which, they said, was in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s vision for alternative sources of revenue for the country in the face of dwindling oil revenue receipts. The Ministers expressed commitment to the development and standardization of mining sites across the country, including Bauchi State. While stressing that the sector holds a lot of potential for the economy, they also informed the Governor that the doors of the Ministry remain open to him and his State for partnership that will be geared towards the mutual benefit of Bauchi State and the nation.
