The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has sent a message of condolence to his Delta State counterpart, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on the death of his father, Late Chief Arthur Okorie Uzoma Okowa at the age of 88 years.
Governor Ikpeazu said he received the news of the passage of Chief Okowa with profound grief but with thanksgiving to God for a very fruitful and impactful life.
According to the Governor, “Since death is a call which awaits every mortal being, our focus should be on the quality of live we will live, the impact we will have and the legacies we will leave behind. Late Pa Okowa lived a good life and left imperishable legacies. God blessed him with long life and the exceptional privilege of being alive to see his son successfully navigate through the intricacies of the Nigerian political sphere”.
Continuing, Governor Ikpeazu said “Your late father saw you become a successful medical doctor, Local Government Chairman, Honorable Commissioner, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Governor of Delta State. He lived to become the Okpara Uku (oldest man) in Idumuebor quarters in Owa-Alero, Ika North-East LGA. Indeed, his life was full and successful”.
The Governor urged his colleague to draw strenght from the life and times of his late father and from the promise of resurrection.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, on behalf of his family, the Government and People of Abia State, sends his deepest sympathies to the Okowa family and the entire people of Delta State, with prayers for the quiet repose of his soul.
