The Rivers State Joint Security Task Force yesterday arrested five persons with three AK-47 riffles, ammunition and Indian hemp at ‘Barracks’, behind Wimpey in Rumueme, Port Harcourt.
The suspects are believed to be thugs hired to unleash violence on voters and innocent citizens during tomorrow’s elections.
Governor Rotimi Amaechi hailed the security agencies for the arrest. He urged residents to remain calm and peaceful, adding that their safety is assured.
