It was a mixture of wailing and thanksgiving to God almighty, Thursday, as a mysterious fire outbreak burnt to ashes a golf 5 model car in Owerri, the IMO state capital.
The inferno which occurred opposite Diamond bank,Orji branch, Owerri, saw the the driver of the brand new car and her 3 children escaping unhurt.
An eye witness account narrated to Okeomanews that the incident occurred at 3:55pm while the burnt car was in motion.
According to the eyewitness, the driver of the car,which was a woman was on school run, when she noticed that there was something wrong with her car,on stopping to observe the situation, the car caught fire immediately.
It took the help of passersby to immediately rescue the 3 children who were in their school uniforms.
All efforts made to quench the fire outbreak proved abortive,as the inferno raged on for hours on the center of the tarred road,causing human and vehicular gridlock in and around the area.
The fire outbreak caused mini dramer around the place,as many motorists abandoned their cars on the tarred road,scampering to safety.
The woman whose car was razed down by the inferno was seen crying profusely, as many sympathizers besieged her,urging her to rather thank God for preserving her life and that of her children.
Okeomanews leant that the burnt car was newly bought.
