SHOCKER:Over 300 pupils escapes Death as School Building Collapsed in Imo

No fewer than 300 pupils of Uzi primary school in Owerri municipal council of IMO state, Tuesday escaped death by whiskers.An eye witness account informed that a heavy wind as a result of the powerful downpour in the state that day blew off the roof of the school structure,resulting in the collapsing of the building.

The incident which occurred at about 5pm,saw properties worth millions of NAIRA belonging to the state government adversely destroyed by the rain.
The ugly incident would had caused more havoc if the players of Taya United FC Owerri, who make use of the school’s playground as their training pitch had been around,as nobody was present during the blowing off of the roof of the building and the immediate collapsing of the building.
The event has obstructed academic activities in the school, as the pupils have no class rooms for their studies.
Many have blamed the state government for the occurrence ,while others who hold contrary view saw the occurrence as a natural development.
The state Commission for information and strategy, Engr Chidi Ibe and the spokesperson for the police in the state, DSP Andrew Enwerem said that they were not aware of the situation.
