The 22 Local Government Chairmen of the APC who were elected on May 23rd 2015 has asked the Nigeria Police to arrest the Rivers State Attorney general and commissioner of Justice Barr.Emma Aguma for misleading the public following the court ruling that reinstated them.
Speaking under the association of Local Government of Nigeria,the Chairmen accused Aguma of misinterpreting the rulling of Justice J.T Fishim,the Chairmen maintained that Aguma failed on his bid to get the court to vacate its order issued on june 22nd 2015 which barred anyone from tampering with their tenure as Elected Council Chairmen.
It willl be recalled that the National Industrial court sitting in Yenagoa had barred the Rivers State Government,State Assenmbly from dissolving the Local Government Chairmen,but on Friday July 9th 2015 a Federal High Court presided over by Justice Lambo Akanbi declared the election that brought the Chairmen into office as null and void.
