Lingering Crises is looming in Rivers State as the members of the Grass Root Development Initiative(GDI) a political group,believed to have aided Nyesom Wike’s Emerges as the Governor Of Rivers State has outsmarted the real members of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) over appointments into political offices.
One of the confirmation of an imminent Looming crises is the protest by youth Bodies in the PDP in Ahoada East Local Government Area for the immediate sack of the caretaker Committee Chairman of the council,the youths who protested from Hospital Road to the Council Quaters in Ahoada East carried placards that Read” GDI is not a political Party” We fought for this together” GDI can hijack these appointments” Etc accused the CTC Chairmen of bias in his appointments.
Similar case is in Obioakpor Local Government Area,where the CTC Chairman Mr. Bright Amaewhule is the Secretary General Of GDI,he was appointed the CTC Chairman of the council and so far all his appointments,approvals e.t.c seems to favour the GDI members Only.
A PDP Stalwart who gave his names as Owhondah Amadi told PUO REPORTS that the Chairmen of Obioakpor L.G.A has been appointing only members of GDI,why the real PDP members are left behind in the scope of appointments,he said for instance,list submitted by Ward 7 in Obioakpor L.G.A was rejected because it has little or no GDI members ,Amadi said the unfortunate situation at hand is that most PDP members are not members of GDI.
Investigation by PUO REPORTS revealed that the reason why Governor Wike is yet to announce his commissioner is the inability to reach a testament between members of GDI and the members of the Peoples Democartic Party )PDP) over who is to be given appointment.
