Some politicians from the South-East geo-political zone on Tuesday
extolled Chief John Odigie Oyegun’s virtues and competencies,
describing him as a brilliant strategist and inspiring leader.
“Very few politicians get to change the political landscape of their
state not to talk about the country. John Oyegun is such a
politician.”
They also fired shot at those calling for his resignation, describing
the call as an irresponsible vendetta.
“We have great admiration for your leadership, the concern and active
support you have shown for the south-east cause. You are a man of
great political courage and resilience” the leaders said.
In a statement issued in Enugu by the coordinator of South-East
Politicians Forum (SEPF), Chief Maxwell Nwosu, the leaders not only
appreciated Oyegun’s political contributions and personal strength but
commended him for his efforts in making the APC better, building
bridges of unity across ethic and religious divides, giving purposeful
leadership to APC and stamping his unique leadership style in the
management of the party
“John Odigie Oyegun is humble, gentle and genial to the core. He is
also honest, kind, generous and selfless. He has taken principled
positions on a wide range of party issues. His leadership style has
earned him the gratitude and admiration of many while his conviction
and willingness to speak out with a clear voice make him the best
national chairman in the country” they said.
The leaders called on Nigerians to join hands with President Muhammadu
Buhari to develop the country.
“The national chairman has been an outstanding beacon of reason and
understanding of Nigeria’s government and politics. He has helped to
reshape party politics in the country. His outstanding leadership is
appreciated by Nigerians from all walks of life”
