The Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja has refused a motion brought by the Peoples Democartic Party(PDP) for it to declare that the candidate of the All Progressive Congress(APC) at the April 11th Guber Poll in Rivers State Dr.Dakuku Peterside was not eligible to be presented by the APC as a candidate for an election.
In a short rulling This morning,the Tribunal Maintained its earlier position on Wednesday July 29th 2015,that it will rule on the issue of eligibility,same time,date and day it will give its judgement on the Petition brought by Dakuku Peterside of the APC.
Dakuku Peterside of the APC had filled an application at the Election Tribunal Sitting in Abuja,praying it to order for a fresh election in Rivers State following the overwhelming evidence of Arson,Killings and Electoral fraud that were reported to have occurred during the April Poll in Rivers State.
The next sitting of the Tribunal is Tuesday 4th August 2015,where the Tribunal will look into the Application filled by Dakuku Peterside seeking for an order to INEC to bring the electoral materials used from Portharcourt To Abuja
