Today’s ruling of the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja today has cleared way for all the Candidates of the All Progressive Congress(APC) for Senate and Federal House Of Representatives in Rivers State Following the sticking out of all Preliminary Objections brought by the PDP
Motions Filled by Counsels to Dr Jacobson Mbina of the PDP who was declared winner of the Eleme/Tai/Oyibo Federal Constituency to prevent speedy proceedings of the petition filed by Hon Barry Barinada Mpigi challenging his victory in the March 28 National Assembly Election were thrown out by the tribunal.
Dr.Jacobson Mbina Counsels had asked the Tribunal to dismiss the petition brought Barry Mpigi over the failure of her party to Notify INEC within the 21days as stipulated by the electoral act.
But on its ruling,the Tribunal held that the preliminary objections were wrongly filled
The Tribunal fixed August 10 for substantive hearing of the petition brought by the APC candidate
