Public Affairs Analyst Barr. Ken Atsuwete has reacted to a statement credited to Rev.Dr.Uma Ukpai,who was quoted to have said yesterday that no matter the level of Plot against Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State,nobody can succeed to remove him as the Governor of Rivers State.
In a Telephone Interview with PUO REPORTS Monday evening,Ken Atsuwete wondered why men and women who are respected Religious Leaders could descend to a low level of campaigning for a particular individual even when elections has come and gone
“That Barr. Nyesom Wike is the incumbent governor of rivers state is not a finality,because its being challenged by a Top contender to that seat in the Person of Dr.Dakuku Perterside,it is to my knowledge that once a person has been declared winner by an electoral umpire,campaigns seizes to exist,it is unfortunate that comments are being made by respected by leaders of religious organisation who formulate the opinions of the large number of people” Ken Stated
Ken Atsuwete also stated that Rev.Dr.Uma Ukpai was very careful yesterday in his Choice of words,which clearly showed that he(Uma Ukpai)acknowledged the Supremacy of the Law
“He said nobody,he didn’t say no commission,no tribunal or no law,which means that he recognized the supremacy of the electoral law.the tribunal has the capacity to remove wike or reaffirm his election.Nothing Uma Ukpai prayer can do,there is nothing they can do. Uma ukpai cannot question the verdict of the Tribunal because the tribunal does not lie in the hands of Uma Ukpai”. He Concluded.
