The Supreme Court has struck out the Application brought by the sacked Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike over the issues of territorial jurisdiction,eligibility of the candidate of the All Progressive Congress(APC) in the april 11th Governorship election in Rivers State Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside.
In a short ruling this morning,the Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Rivers State Election petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja and the Court of Appeal which had earlier ruled and uphelded the decision of the relocation of the Rivers State election petition tribunal from Portharcourt the Rivers State capital to Abuja the FCT.
The had been fears in some quaters after last saturdays verdict of the Election tribunal which nullified the entire governorship election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) in Rivers State,that the SUPREME Court might rule in favour of governor Nyesom Wike.
The Supreme Court ruled today that were serious security challenges tat warrants the relocation of the Tribunal to Abuja which has already been establised under the constitution,the appeal by Wike was subequently struck out
