Kogi State is on the edge, as youths blocked the major Highway linking Ayangba and Abuja in protest against reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had replaced its candidate in the inconclusive governorship election, late Prince Abubakar Audu, with one of the aspirants during the primary, Yahaya Bello.
The youths, it was gathered are insisting that Audu’s son, Mohammed Audu, be presented , as the party’s replacement for late Audu.
Although the party was yet to officially announce Bello as the replacement for Audu, the youths were enraged by reports that he has been picked for the supplementary election.
This is amid reports that Bello left the APC for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after he was defeated in the party’s primary by Audu.
Meanwhile, the Abubakar Audu/James Faleke Campaign Organisation has said on Saturday that nominating Faleke to carry on where Audu stopped would plunge the state into crisis.
The position of the Campaign was made known by its Head of Media, Dr. Tom Ohikere, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
