RIVERS State Government has urged the people of the state to put politics aside and support Governor Nyesom Wike to move the state forward.

State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr Austin Tam-George, in a statement, yesterday, said Governor Wike had achieved in six months what the previous government could not do in six years.
He enjoined the people to unite against alleged moves by former Governor Rotimi Amaechi to dislodge Governor Wike from Government House, Port Harcourt, describing it as an attempt by Amaechi to secure what he termed a third term by proxy.
“Governor Wike has shown a clear determination to develop the state and deliver services to the people. Wike has achieved more in six months, than the previous administration did in six years.
“Mr Dakuku Peterside was never a serious political candidate. His image has been taken up by Amaechi who wants to return to rape the state yet again. But the people of Rivers State will continue to resist and defeat them,” the commissioner maintained
