There may be more than meets the eye in the current governorship crisis rocking Abia State as informed reports has it that the duo of Sir Emeka Offor, the oil magnet and Sir Annie Okonkwo, another business mogul and APC Chieftain in Amanda State are responsible for the controversial judgment of Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja which purportedly sacked the Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu while ordering that Uche Ogah be sworn in immediately as Governor.
According to sources in Aso Rock, both Emeka Offor and Okonkwo are angry with Ikpeazu for his decision in a matter involving Prof Bath Nnaji, the owner of Geometrix Power Distribution Company in Aba where the Governor favoured Nnaji in place of Offor’s company originally enjoying the monopoly of supplies for the Power Distribution centre at Alaoji, Aba.
The Anambra born politicians moved to join forces with Uche Ogah to ensure that Ikpeazu is punished. With the help of Okonkwo, they reached out to their judiciary contacts and ‘procured’ a hurried judgement in favor of Ogah who had perfected plans to defect to the APC.
They also went further to make frantic phone calls to the Chief Justice of Abia State, Justice Theresa Uzoamaka Uzokwe who incidentally happens to be from Anambra State. But the CJ turned down their request and they turned around to blackmail Her Lordship of ‘disappearing’ from his duty post, though the State Acting Registrar denied in a Press Statement.

While the civilian coup at the judiciary was to have taken place on Friday, June 24, 2005, the State Chief Judge was inundated with calls on Thursday and all through Friday. When they failed in their plot to placate the CJ, they shifted judgment to Monday, June 27, 2015, while they had concluded plots with INEC to issue an already prepared Certificate of Return, even without a Certified True Copy of the details of the Judgment presented to INEC.
Meanwhile, the business men cum politicians and allies of Ogah had succeeded in quashing the Certificate case against President Buhari which was instituted by their kinsman and was being heard by the same Justice Abang Okon.
Less than 24 hours after the controversial judgment in favor of Ogah, the trial Judge, Okon struck out the case against Buhari on grounds that the Plaintiff had withdrawn the matter.
The desperate plots to remove Ikpeazu has heightened to the clandestine plots to kidnap Abia judicial Officers.
