Mr. Kayode Ajulo, a legal luminary, in an interview on Thursday in Abuja, cautioned Prof. Wole Soyinka, against destroying his American Green Card as he had said.
He noted that the 82 year old resident scholar at the New York University’s Institute of African America Affairs should know the consequence of such action.
According to Ajulo, Soyinka might risk been jailed for 3 to 7 years if he cuts his green card.
“I have no problem with Kogi; he is an opinion moulder, an elder statesman and nation builder, who should know the implication of such act.
“Under the American law losing or having your U.S. green card destroyed can be a serious problem,’’ he said.
Ajulo who described Soyinka as far bigger and better than his decision to destroy his American green card, said that in law, such acts could be seen as wishful destruction of government’s property.
