The Leadership of the All Progressive Congress(APC) is plotting to unseat Senator Mangus Abe Representing Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly through the Rivers State National Assembly election Petition Tribunal sitting in Apo Abuja.
PUO REPORTS gathered that the grand plot hatched as a result of the fallout between Senator Magnus Abe and Mr Chibuike Amaechi the Minister of Transportation has been bought over by majority of the Party Leaders including Mr Dakuku Peterside who was the Rivers APC 2015 Governorship Candidate.
It was learnt that Senator Magnus Abe’s 2019 Governorship ambition against the wishes of the Rivers APC Leader Mr Amaechi had put him at logger-heads with majority of Mr Amaechi’s Kinsmen who are devising all means possible to stop the Senator before 2019 General Elections.
The Decision to Nullify the Election of Senator Magnus Abe through the Rivers State National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal was reached during a Caucus meeting of Mr Amaechi’s Loyalist held in Abuja lastweek.
It was also agreed to contact the President of the Court of Appeal,to ensure the Appeal Court also Nullifies the Election of Seantor Magnus Abe whose popularity has been described by Amaechi’s Loyalist as unbearable.
Senator Magnus Abe yesterday closed his defense on the Petition brought by Senator Olaka Nwogu against the Declaration of Senator Magnus Abe as the winner of the December 10 2016 Rerun for Rivers South East Senatorial District.
The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) had declared Magnus Abe winner in the December 10 Rerun Election for Rivers South East Senatorial District with total of 125,938 votes against Olaka Nwogu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who garnered. 25,394 votes.
The Tribunal is expected to deliver its ruling later this Month of June.
Following the Suspension of almost all those who identified with Senator Magnus Abe by the Leadership of the APC in Rivers State,his kinsmen from Ogoni has surrounded him to show Solidarity and Support.
