Chief Ekene Enefe declared, yesterday, that Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, deserves a second term in office.
Enefe is national coordinator of Stakeholders for Willie Obiano’s Second Term,
He also disclosed that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) remains Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s soul and body.
Enefe said the Igbo, particularly Anambra people, cannot afford to abandon Ojukwu, the Ikemba of Igboland, even in death.
The national coordinator called on Anambra voters to turn out en masse and re-elect governor Obiano in the November 18, 2017 governorship election and also, encouraged citizens of the state never to mind those he described as political hawks “whose target is to enrich their pockets with public funds without meaningful development in the state.”
Chief Enefe, in an interview with Daily Sun, said no other political party except APGA which is the ruling party in Anambra could fight the cause of Igbo to a logical conclusion.
“If you examine some of those people trooping out like the locust for the November 18 election and their desperation, you will find out that their target will not be anything short of grabbing federal allocation, enriching themselves and send our people back to square one.
“God forbid. Governor Obiano will consolidate on the gains of his developmental stride in the state,” Enefe said.
He also argued that since the late Biafra warlord remains APGA progenitor, even in death, “it would be a dishonour to Ojukwu, to allow any other political party to even contemplate contesting against APGA, not to talk of taking over the state.”
Chief Enefe noted that apart from Obiano being a sitting governor who has already won the heart of the people, Anambra people would have nothing to do with a party like the All Progressives Congress (APC), whose members, he said, handed down a quit notice to Igbo in their North.
He was of the opinion that no reasonable Igbo man or woman would identify with the APC in any election in the South East, “since the party is alien to Igbo and an architect of marginalisation.”
He noted that those who wanted to use the APC as a platform for the upcoming governorship election would abandon the party as soon as the election is over.
Enefe advised them to rather, “collapse their structures into APGA now,” which he said would be more honourable than to be “shamefully defeated at the polls.”
Enefe said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s effort to take over Anambra is a non issue, “since it has to pull itself together first, before talking about wining an election.
He, then, described every other political party on the queue for the governorship election as “busy bodies.”
