Some commuters and motorists became stranded in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State on Thursday as part of a bridge popularly known as Okulu-Aleto in Akpajo on the East-West Road caved in.
The incident that happened today worsened the traffic situation on the road, which serves as an access link for those travelling through Port Harcourt to Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.
The Federal Road Maintenance Agency has yet to issue a statement on the incident.
