Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, said on Sunday that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is yet to contact him for his possible returns to the party.
The governor stated this while fielding questions from journalists at the residence of former Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, in Birninkudu local govrnment area of the state.
Tambuwal said the committee set up by the PDP to contact its top members who left the party before the 2015 general election has not discuss with him formally or informally on the matter.
The governor said he was in Lamido’s residence to condole with him over the death of his daughter, Hajiya Hadiza.
“I’m sure you are aware that we lost our dear sister few months ago. I have not been able to come and condole with our leader and pay my condolence to the family,” he said.
The Sokoto governor denied any political discussion with the ex-Jigawa governor and PDP presidential aspirant during the condolence visit, saying “there was no political discussion at all.”
