The Umaru Musa Yaradua University, Katsina (UMYU) branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has passed a vote of no confidence on the vice chancellor of the university Prof. Idris Isa Funtua over misplacement of financial resources.

The union’s Secretary Dr. Zayyana Ibrahim in a statement at the end of its congress meeting said the VC’s general poor leadership style was a source of concern.
”The VC is insensitive to plights of staff and poor handling of staff development on issues like fellowship and conferences” it stated.
These bedevilling issues, among many others are contributing in retarding the development of the university and have generated undue tension that requires urgent attention, it added.
