No Student was Raped in Ovim Methodist College – Principal

The Principal of the Methodist Girls Model Secondary School Oluchi Udenye has refuted reports making the rounds that students of the school were raped by hoodlums.
Speaking to love FM in a telephone interview, Mrs Udenye narrated what actually happened stressing that the sole invader who scaled the fence of the school succeeded in inflicting bodily injuries on 9 students as a result of the resistance that was put up by the girls.

The School Principal who marveled at how the hoodlum was able to scale the huge fence of the school noted that responses so far from stakeholders concerned were impressive assuring that the school authorities would not rest on its oars to improve on her security situation

Speaking on the incidenc,e Abia state Commissioner for Information Okiyi Kalu noted that government would go a step further to improve on the human security monitoring of the area and also called on security agencies to bring the culprit to book.

When contacted on phone, the Police Public Relations Officer Abia Command Geoffrey Ogbonna said he was not aware of the incident and promised to get in touch with Divisional Police Officer DPO at Ovim
