BREAKING: Buhari Leaves Abuja For UN General Assembly In New York

The President, Muhammadu Buhari, has departed Abuja this morning for New York to join other world leaders at the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, (UNGA)72.

Our State House Correspondent, Ibrahim Addra reports that the Presidential Guard is already on standby at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport Abuja awaiting the President’s arrival.

The high point of the President’s visit will be his participation in the general debate, during which he will deliver the country’s national statement.

The theme for this year’s debate is: “Focusing On People: Striving For Peace And A Decent Life For All On A Sustainable Planet.”

At a press briefing held at the UN Headquarters in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyema, disclosed that President Buhari is also expected to discuss the repatriation of Nigeria’s stolen funds when he takes the podium on Monday. ChannelTV
