Ooni visits Ikpeazu, says Igbo race is Nigeria’s lifeline

Ooni of Ife, Adeleye Enitan Ogunwusi has described the Igbo race as the life and lifeline of Nigeria.

He called on the federal government to gainfully engage the youths from the region to ensure the indivisibility of the nation.

The monarch said this when he paid a visit to Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu at Government House, Umuahia.

Ooni Adeleye said the visit was part of his decision to bridge the gap across Nigeria and to support the Governor of Abia State.

He said Governor Ikpeazu’s passion for the traditional institution in Nigeria, the state and things that has positive values cannot be over emphasized.

He also said Nigerians are the same across board, and commended the culture of the Igbos.

“Igbo’s tradition is beautiful and signifies that anyone who brings kola brings life.”

He said the culture is linked to the ceremony of breaking kolanut which shows strength of the typical Igbo man and woman and the can do spirit of the Igbo race that he is very proud of.

Happy that the Igbo culture is upheld and always feels at home in Igbo land, hr noted that Nigerians are spiritually linked and must work together because their strength lies in their diversity.

Adeleye called on the federal government to, as a matter of urgency, channel it’s strength to a course that would better the course of the youths.

The Ooni says his people stands by Governor Ikpeazu’s progressive manner, noting that everyone must come together to make a Nigeria great.

He called on the re-orientation of the youths that disintegration pays no one any good and enjoined the youths to do away with hate speeches and channel their energy to the right course.

Adeleye prayed the youths of the state continues to make Nigeria and Abia proud and renamed IPOB Indigenous People of a Brighter Nigeria.

He explained that the youth of the country are the future and energy of the country and should be made to understand that their welfare is his watch word.

Governor Ikpeazu while welcoming his royal guest described the visit as an honour and a privelege.

The Governor thanked the Monarch for his kind words to the state, noting that his prayers, support and encouragement has contributed to Abia’s success.

The Governor said he is encouraged by the leadership style of the Ooni especially in ensuring the unity of Nigeria.

He maintained that Nigeria has all it takes to become world’s best because of its diversity and noted that the problem is the inability to harness the energy and divert it to the positive growth of the country.

The Governor explained that the youths remains an integral part of Abia and the country but must learn to channel their course through the right source.

Governor Ikpeazu expressed belief that the only way to curb youth restiveness,banditary and violent crimes in the society is to ensure that the youths are gainfully employed.

Ooni Adeleye Ogunwusi was in the state to fully associate with the governor and people of the state in all the challenges and noted that Abia is peaceful.
